7Comments I wonder why....

I have soo many friends...
With whom I'm always in contact with...
I can say that I have one of the well maintained friend circle...
At least I think so...

I'm sure they will come if I need anything... n vice versa...

They All are my very very close friends...
I can't imagine life without keeping contact with all my friends...

Still...
I'm not sure anyone of them call Me as his or her.... u know... bestest friend...
I wonder why is it so...

Is it because I have so much friends n because of that m not able to distribute time in friends group...
or is it because different friends group conflicts...

Even google's not giving answer to that...

Hula girl: Wait a minute. You're that lame army guy.
Barney: What, no, no, that's some other guy. And he was a kick-ass fighter pilot.
Hula girl: I cannot believe I gave you my number.
Barney: Yeah, well you did, thanks.
Hula girl: Yeah, well give it back.
Barney: Well, uh, I don't think so. I earned it, fair and square. I'm calling you.
Hula girl: But I'm never gonna go out with you.
Barney: But how will you know it's me. I'm a master of disguise! Yeah.

0Comments What a wonderful world !

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.
The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you.

I hear babies cry, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.

1Comments 6 days to go !

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows !

Harry Potter and the Deathly HallowsHints from Rowling

# Although Buckbeak may have filled this role (Harry obtained possession of the Hippogriff after the death of Sirius Black, albeit under Hagrid's care), she also hinted that Fawkes, Dumbledore's phoenix, might have another role.

# Rowling has long said that the fact that Harry has "his mother's eyes" is "very important.

# She has stated we will learn more about Peter Pettigrew and Dumbledore and their respective families.

# Rowling has said that Ginny Weasley is quite powerful, that we have seen a taste of that in the past, and we will see it again.

# When further questioned in June 2006 about authors who kill off their main characters, Rowling said "I can completely understand, however, the mentality of an author who thinks, well, I'm going to kill them off because that means there can be no non-author-written sequels".

# Sirius Black's flying motorbike and the two-way mirror he gave Harry will return. In fact, Rowling has mentioned in one of her FAQs that the two way mirror "will help more than you think." Rowling refused to comment whether Sirius himself might in some way reappear, but she has also said that there was a reason why he had to die.

# Viktor Krum is set for a reappearance.

The book is expected to be 608 pages in the British edition, and has been confirmed to be 784 pages in the US edition

1Comments Movie review: Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix

*** SPOILER ALERT ***

# The book name says "Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix". but there is hardly any mention of "The Order of the Phoenix". Only first 5 minutes n last 10 mins...

# Daniel Radcliffe - In the book you can sense his anger, frustration and pain. The only pain I sensed was having to put up with another scene with him in. As an example his line 'Get behind me' sounded more as if he was standing in a lunch queue at school.
No feelings for Sirius...

# Voldemort "Suits Up" (lol)

# No sense of time passing. 75-80% book part finished in first 1 hr...

# Michael Gambon sucks as Dumbledore, he has never had the quiet calm that comes over in the books.

# As for Grawp, I thought I had gone into Shrek by mistake. Where did the ugly, brutal giant go? I half expected Donkey or Princess Fiona to appear...

# Umbridge "Slaps" potter (lol)
also 'Bursts' through room of requirement...

# no Voldamort-Dumbledore fight (avada-kedavra), no Sirius-Bellatrix fight.

# No mention of Regulus.

# Petronas effect is shown poorly at start...

# No Quidditch...

So overall Poor movie...
i give 5/10...

The novel is about four 9th standard friends, one of whom, Joshi, is the narrator. They gather at a construction site near school to "do bhankas". There are some superb descriptions of the school from the atmosphere in the headmaster's office to the classroom to exam tension. Joshi also has a crush on a girl in the class and a large chunk of the novel is about this crush, how he pursues her, his luck and failure at it, etc. Lots of material in this novel for the "courtship" thread! I thought this story dominated the novel too much, but perhaps it simply mirrors the way the crush dominated the boy's mind.

1Comments iLove iPhone

It’s a phone - with no buttons! great! It can be used in many different regions, it’s also an ipod, and you can surf the web with it… It has a camera, and Bluetooth, etc…. And it runs Mac OS X!! It has rather lovely features, such as an on board accelerometer that detects when you rotate the phone to view a picture in landscape - it reorients the image for you. Sounds like more clever and sensible design from the folks at Apple. I can’t wait to try one.

>iPhone is a widescreen iPod with touch controls that lets you enjoy all your content — including music, audiobooks, videos, TV shows, and movies — on a beautiful 3.5-inch widescreen display. It also lets you sync your content from the iTunes library on your PC or Mac. And then you can access it all with just the touch of a finger.

Music

Scroll through your songs, artists, albums, and playlists with just a flick of a finger. Album artwork is dramatically presented on the large display. And now use Cover Flow to browse your music library by album artwork for the first time on an iPod.

iPhone is a revolutionary new mobile phone that allows you to make a call by simply pointing your finger at a name or number in your address book, a favorites list, or a call log. It also automatically syncs all your contacts from a PC, Mac, or Internet service. And it lets you select and listen to voicemail messages in whatever order you want — just like email.

iPhone features a rich HTML email client and Safari — the most advanced web browser ever on a portable device — which automatically syncs bookmarks from your PC or Mac. Safari also includes built-in Google and Yahoo! search. iPhone is fully multi-tasking, so you can read a web page while downloading your email in the background over Wi-Fi or EDGE.
Multi-touch

iPhone features the most revolutionary user interface since the mouse. It’s an entirely new interface based on a large multi-touch display and innovative new software that lets you control everything using only your fingers. So you can glide through albums with Cover Flow, flip through photos and email them with a touch, or zoom in and out on a section of a web page — all by simply using iPhone’s multi-touch display.

Intelligent Keyboard

iPhone’s full QWERTY soft keyboard lets you easily send and receive SMS messages in multiple sessions. And the keyboard is predictive, so it prevents and corrects mistakes, making it easier and more efficient to use than the small plastic keyboards on many smartphones.

this is only 499$ Phone
I'm surely gonna get this one some day !

2Comments The Class

Kids, PL is the best time to study for the exams... But sometimes your non-engineer friends put some interesting stuff on your harddisk and all your time table gets collapsed... I went through the same process in summer of 2007...

Suyash was here yesterday to get movies from my harddisk... n put some serial named "The Class" on my PC... I just saw its first episode n it turned out "The Class is AWESOME"...

n now I've finished all the episodes of first season n it is still rocking...
Second season is due - this fall... with of curz "HIMYM"...
so... two gr8 serials this fall...
Legen..wait for it..Dary!!!

Plot:

THE CLASS is a comedy about a group of twentysomethings inextricably bound together by having been in the same third grade class. Two decades later, their lives intersect once again, giving them the uncommon opportunity to learn how everyone turned out and to rebuild old friendships.

Ethan Haas (Jason Ritter) is a single pediatrician wading back into the dating world after being dumped by his longtime girlfriend. Ethan’s friend, Kyle Lendo (Sean Maguire), is a schoolteacher living happily with his Chilean boyfriend. Twin sisters Kat and Lina Warbler couldn’t be more different: Kat (Lizzy Caplan) hides her kind heart behind a sarcastic and cynical attitude, while Lina (Heather Goldenhersh) is openly and relentlessly optimistic. That optimism is a good thing for Lina’s new boyfriend, Richie Velch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson), who’s had a life of hard luck. On his first date with Lina, he backed over her with his car. Richie works with Duncan Carmello (Jon Bernthal), a cool guy who plays in a band, but still lives with his mother (Julie Halston). Duncan is still in love with his high school sweetheart, Nicole (Andrea Anders), but she’s stuck in an unfulfilling marriage to legendary football star/BBQ grill spokesman Yonk Allen (David Keith). Nicole finds solace decorating Yonk’s huge house with the help of interior decorator extraordinaire, Perry Pearl (Sam Harris).

3Comments Amazing Lord of the Rings film facts

Check out these amazing Lord of the Rings film facts!

  • Filming took place in New Zealand.

  • Director Peter Jackson took 18 months to film all three adaptations of The Lord of the Rings.

  • 1,600 pairs of rubber ears and feet were used.

  • 5,000 cubic metres of vegetables and flowers were grown a year before the filming started to make Hobbiton - the village where some of the Hobbits live.

  • 250 horses were used. 70 of these were specially trained, including five miniature horses used for the hobbits.

  • A lot of the sets were carved out of polystyrene, to make them look like wood which had aged over thousands of years.
  • 64 miniature sets were used to create places such as the Land of the Dwarves and Khazad-Dum.

  • The character Gollum was completely computer- generated.

  • Over £50,000 of coffee was drunk by the crew and cast during the 18 months of filming!

  • Nearly all nine actors of 'The Fellowship' had a tattoo done of the word 'Nine' in Elvish to mark the close bonds they built up during 18 months filming together - though none of them will allow photos taken of the tattoos! Dominic Monaghan (who plays Merry) confirmed this by secretly showing his tattoo to our team. He added that John Rhys-Davies chose not to. His stunt double Bret had one instead.

0Comments The Road Goes Ever On

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

2Comments a part of me...

I was sitting alone…
Just watching… thinking…
I do like sitting alone… just looking at sea…
Trying to understand, what’s he trying to tell me…

The Sea was looking silent…
Waiting for something…
I was going to ask him…
But I asked nothing…

From blue sky towards sea,
Sun was coming…
They meet every day…
Still running, as if this is their last meeting.Sun was setting now…

I was looking…
Even sea’s got company now…
And Here I am,
still searching… watching… waiting…

Just like this blue ocean,
a mysterious man I am.
Perhaps, this is the only place,
Where, I could be who I am.

This is a part of me…
That cannot stay, yet cannot leave.
This is a part of me…
That makes me complete, I believe…

3Comments An Argument on Eating Habbits - Vedang

My friend Jitesh is a Jain. A practicing Jain. This means that he is strictly vegetarian and abhors all things non-veg. Recently I've been having a rather interesting mail conversation with him. And because I think it's entertaining, I've put up the salient points.

This entire episode started over a mail that had a few funny pictures in it.

So here's how the conversation went

jitesh: i deleted it as soon i saw the 1st pic ...
DISGUSTING it is ...

vedang:the truth is, it is just as cruel to eat plants as it is to eat animals...
so might as well give in and eat animals. :D

dnt get me started on this ... wanna argue over what is cruel and what is not?
(and "eat animals" is not a joke in any context)

V: hehe... it all depends on the perception buddy... plants are just as alive as anything else. It's just a way of life, living things eat other living things. You just have to have a flexible mindset.

J: its not just about "living things" as a whole. consider the classification : one sensed to 5 sensed (5 classes). the single sensed organisms have only one sense . namely skin and the 5 sensed are completely developed beings with all 5 senses. now ... the nervous system is present only in beings havin more than one sense ... so they can feel the pain!!
also, animals exhibit a social behaviour .. the bonds of love... if u kill a calf, its tantamount to killing a child in front of her mother ... plants don't have any such connections ... also plants are single-sensed.
secondly, it is impossible to survive without killing organisms (eg. when u breathe, the heat from ur body constantly kills the organisms in the air)
so, a way out is .. trying to MINIMIZE the pain we inflict upon others ... so, we restrict ourselves to only single sensed organisms ... and even then, we should restrict ourselves to the bare minimum ... only consume whateva is reqd for survival !! is it k?

V: it has been proved in various studies that plants DO FEEL PAIN... pain is nothing but a reaction to stimulus. It has been adequately proved that plants are just as responsive as any other living thing. There are even plants that eat other animals, (eg pitcher plants, flypaper traps) which shows a high degree of development.

And as for the "MINIMIZE the pain" thing, this is a typically flawed point of view. Humans are different from animals. We put forward this argument that why kill animals when we can survive on plants? This is flawed. Everywhere in nature we see that one kind preys on another. There is no malice in this.

Man, her last work, who seem'd so fair,
Such splendid purpose in his eyes,
Who roll'd the psalm to wintry skies,
Who built him fanes of fruitless prayer,

Who trusted God was love indeed
And love Creation's final law --
Tho' Nature, red in tooth and claw
With ravine, shriek'd against his creed --

this is a part of a poem by alfred lord tennyson. The highlighted phrase is very famous, you might know of it. it says that nature does not understand emotions. As opposed to contrary belief, many animals prey just for "practice", and not necessarily when they are hungry.

J: dude .. there's a difference betn responsiveness and "Feeling the pain" .. u can feel the pain only when u have an active nervous system ... and for having an active nervous system . there shld b central controller .. namely the BRAIN ... and plants lack both !!! responsiveness is NOT the same as FEELING THE PAIN.

V: strictly speaking FEEL is an entirely human emotion. As for a central controller ("BRAIN"), chicken don't have it either. So, I dont see why you should have a problem eating chicken.

J: btw ... i am not trying u to persuade being a veggie ... but isn't this issue worth thinkin upon?

V: certainly. I'm not asking you to try non-veg. I'm asking you to try veg when other people are trying non-veg.

J: have u ever visited a slaughter house? the hens/goats waiting to be slaughtered, their kin are killed in front of them ... do u know what it is to be like waiting in the queue to be slaughtered? ... seeing ur mother/siblings being killed in front of u? .... nd taht too so that we can have some fun!

V: I'm not having fun! I'm satisfying my hunger.

J: isn't that sad? give a thot dude ... if u have even a little mercy left in u ... u'll atleast think twice before goin for a chicken jumbo in BK the next time ...

V: i have never visited a slaughter house. If i do, i certainly wont be able to eat non-veg for a few days. But this only proves that I'm human and have feelings. Many animals are not like this, for example cats kill their own young. Non veg is healthy and nourishing and certainly deserves to be tried.

J: i dnt understand y u compare man with "other" animals...

V: then wot should i compare man to? plants?

J: we r different because we have compassion!
can u imagine a lion having compassion for a deer?

V: I cant imagine man having compassion for a deer either.

J: can he survive on plants?

V: man is not a carnivore, hyenas can survive on plants, yet they also hunt prey at times.

J: can't we do our bit not to hurt others?

V: sure we can, we always feel for others. But meat cooked and served on a plate is nothing other than food.

J: is ur alibi of eating non-veg so weak?

V: actually, i dont think its weak at all.

J: others eat non-veg .. so u too eat?

V: I never said this. I eat nonveg only because I like too. I'm not concerned with others.

J: satisfying ur hunger, lol.. rn't there others ways? ... is it necesasry to resort to such merciless way of satisfying ur hunger?

V: sure there are, but at that time i was hungry for chicken, not spinach. I'm also hungry for spinach often, at which times i dont think of eating chicken.

J: tell me how are u different from other animals? .. what makes u a human .. and NOT a cat or just another animal? .... the cat has no qualms killing her offsprings .. so even i wnt show any mercy.

V: i never said anything about mercy. i dont see where mercy even comes in the picture. If you are really so concerned, you should stop using leather, stop drinking milk, stop using plastic (because discarded plastic chokes the poor herbivores who try to eat it), stop eating plants (the herbivores need to eat them), stop deforestation (ur stealing their homes), stop using cars (god knows how many dogs die everyday), stop reproducing (this is the root of all the problems), infact stop everything, because one way or the other you'll affect someone.

J: y dnt u give the example of the herbivores who wnt hurt an animal? y dnt u give examples from our human race itself ?

V: There are countless people in this world whose main diet is meat. Infact there are more non-veg eaters than strict vegetarians.
I think you are shifting from the main point. The point was that plants are just as alive as animals. I don't have any intention of convincing you that I'm right, or that you shouldn't eat plants. I was just making a simple statement. Plants have been here long before us, and they will most probably be here long after us. The issue of "mercy", "pain" or any such thing should not come into the picture at all.

The reason i enjoy arguing with Jitesh is that he is just as stubborn as I am. This argument will go on I'm sure, but I'd like to invite you to give us your opinion too. I'm sure most of you will be in favor of vegetarianism, coz thts the fashionable thing to do... but see if you can back it up with any logic!
I hope this is cogent enough for you, because this is my final word on this argument. There really is no point to discussion when both parties refuse to budge from their stands.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

Johnny Depp Roxxxxx !!
Cheers !!!

One of the review is as follows-
As awesome a finale as anyone could have hoped for...
"If you, like me, were disappointed by the over-hyped, sloppy and disappointing returns of Shrek and Spiderman in the first two mega-threquels of the summer, then I have good news for you. One third entry in a huge cinema franchise is every bit as good as you would expect.

While lacking the surprise of the original, the third Pirates film is much better than the second (though I liked it, I thought it had too many jokes and gags; a lot of the heart in the first was missing it seemed). Its lengthier, and not in a slowed-down way. Longer meaning more action, more characters (Chow Yun Fat and Keith Richards are awesome), and a final battle so enriched with awesome design, careful choreography and stunning visual effects it will blow your mind.

The cast is great, the thrills all first-rate. I don't want to give away any of the surprises and great moments to die-hard fans like myself. Just trust me: this summer spend your buck on Pirates...it's worth it!!!!"

0Comments Human Memory Vs. Computer Memory

We always say that 'Human Memory' is much better that normal computer...
And of course it is true…

But there’s one main disadvantage or whatever you may say... we can delete any contents from computer memory at any time we want; but there’s no such function in human memory.

Just imagine what would happen if we able to delete our thoughts at any time-

On the bright side, we will able to erase all dangerous or sad incidents which are normally difficult to forget. Accidents, failure in exam, anything…
But on the other hand, criminals will erase everything in their mind after crime which would lead to extra work for police… Or may be on small scale- We’ll find girlfriends saying “Don’t meet her again or I’ll erase you from my memory”…

Hehe…

Twas just a thought popped up in my mind…
